Crispy Avocado Bites

Looking to satisfy your craving for something deep fried and delicious, but trying to cut back on junk food? Try these crispy avocado bites! They literally taste like chicken nuggets, but instead are loaded with nutrients and a nice side of healthy fats. Pair them with a salad for a healthy lunch that will keep you full!

You will need:

  • 1 avocado
  • Whole wheat flour
  • Eggs (whisked)
  • Crackers (I like Vinta crackers but use whatever you have in your cupboard)
  • ***you do not need exact amounts for the flour, eggs, or crackers as they are used as a coating. Put each in their own bowl, and you can add more as needed


  • Preheat oven to 425F
  • Fill a sandwich-size Ziploc bag halfway full with crackers, and crush them up into crumbs. A rolling pin works best, but it can be also be done using the palm of your hand
  • Cut avocado into 1-inch wedges
  • Coat each wedge in the flour, then egg, then cracker crumbs and place onto ungreased baking tray (I used wax paper to save cleaning time)
  • Bake for 14 minutes, flipping halfway through
  • Enjoy!

Yields 4 servings (approx. 4 bites per serving)

  • 28.5 g carbs
  • 12.8 g fat (keep in mind, avocados are HEALTHY fat!)
  • 9.9 g protein
