I can’t believe November is almost over, this month has flown by! I haven’t been able to work on the blog as much as I would like; I just finished moving to a new apartment and I’ve been mentally and physically exhausted from adjusting to a new living space. Is it just me or is it super hard to adjust to sleeping in a new place? I seriously haven’t had a solid sleep in weeks. Luckily, I’ve had a few products that I keep going back to that I’ve been relying on to keep my zombie-self going. Check them out below!
- Lean Fit Chocolate Whey Blend Protein
I like to buy my protein from Costco, because unless you’re training and need something very specific from your protein, when you’re buying protein powder you’re not going to notice any difference in your body between a $40 tub of a whey protein blend (this one is mostly whey protein isolate) from Costco or a $100 tub of the purest whey protein isolate from Popeyes or GNC. Except for taste. Most proteins make me want to gag and their aftertaste is god awful but I drink them anyway because I really don’t get enough protein in my diet. So a few weeks ago I went to Costco and noticed this brand that I had never tried, and thought “what the heck, I might as well try it, I need more protein anyway”. Best decision ever. I’m not going to say it tastes amazing, because no protein shake ever does, but it doesn’t leave any gross aftertaste and the chocolate flavour is actually decent. I’ve been drinking this almost everyday and haven’t looked back at my old stuff since.
- Violet Voss Liquid Lipstick in Tryst
I discovered this liquid lipstick at the IMATS in Toronto this fall. I was a bit hesitant, because I had never heard of the brand and I like to do my research first, but they had the exact colour I had been looking for all day and the price didn’t hurt either (only $16!). I am SO happy that I bought this. It is one of the very few liquid lipsticks that doesn’t dry out my lips, and it stays on literally all day. The only drawback is that the texture is a bit sticky, but I’ll take that over dry any day! Added bonus: Violet Voss is cruelty free.
- Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturuzer
While I love living in Canada, my skin isn’t a fan of our winters. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m terrible at moisturizing, but as the days get colder and my skin gets dryer I’m forcefully reminded that I need to take better care of my skin. I’ve used this product for years, but especially so this month. My skin is prone to breakouts, but this formula hydrates my skin without making it greasy. 10/10 would recommend!
- Cold 911 from David’s Tea
As soon as the cold weather hits, so do the sniffles. Herbal tea is my go-to when I start to feel sick and Cold 911 is by far my favorite. Cold 911 is one of David’s Teas most popular blends, and for a good reason. The mix of peppermint, eucalyptus, juniper berries and orange peel really opens up your sinuses while delivering a hit of vitamin c. Take that, stuffy nose!
