Hi there! My name is Kayla and I have been fascinated with everything health and beauty since I entered the modelling industry at 15.
Being so young and in an industry with a history of eating disorders, I heard “don’t get too skinny!” and “you’re too thin, you should eat more” on a weekly basis. It drove me CRAZY because health has always been very important to me, and I was determined to keep my model measurements through exercise and eating lots of healthy food. Spoiler alert: it worked…until I went away to university and midnight pizza runs entered my life. I made it my mission to get back to a healthy lifestyle, and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks that I have learned over the years to make the transition to a healthy lifestyle as easy as possible. My focus is on long-term health, sustainable solutions, and feeling your best. So sorry, no “5 minutes to perfect abs” articles here!
My passion for beauty, oddly enough, started after my professional modelling career ended. After being accepted into university I knew that I could no longer be doing multiple trips to Toronto each month for go-sees, commercials, photoshoots, and runways. I began to do freelance work on the side, and quickly learned that in the freelance world, hair and makeup being provided was not always a given. So I learned how to do it myself. After hours of article reading, YouTube videos, and experimenting, I can’t wait to share everything that I have learned. I’m no expert, but I hope to share products and advice that can help you feel camera-ready even in those mornings you overslept because you were up late binge watching Netflix (aka me every morning).
